IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF MERLYN

11-Day Magical pilgrimage to southern England

9-19th. June 2016

MERLYNS TRAVELS with technical assistance from YOUNES REJSER

Our journey through southern England is planned as a magical adventure from start to finish - and it begins when you register your commitment to be a part of the group!

It is not an ordinary tourist visit to famous places, but conceived as a pilgrimage, which is defined as travel to a sacred site for the good of the soul. We shall be exploring some of the most famous landmarks of ancient Britain - and many not so well known, isolated, yet poweful sacred locations. our aim is not a quest for things past, but a journey to another world that is both inner and outer. This is the spirit of the Celtic traditions, in which myth and history are often indistinguishable and the Otherworld is no further away than making attunement with the fairy stones in the nearby field. Many of the places we visit are far from cities and often hard to find, but in this way we shall come to experience the true goal of any pilgrimage - to find oneself and be inspired and transformed by the experience of sacred sites & the evolving group process.

And behind all that we do, our guiding light shall be our connection wit the living Merlyn tradition.

At the start of each day on our travels, we shall be using the "Arthurian Tarot" cards to establish who shall become the "Merlyn-for-the Day" - and that traveller then becomes the eyes & heart of the group for that special day - and so the magic begins!

To travel in the Footsteps of Merlyn – but who is Merlyn? Most people have heard of King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table searching for the Holy Grail – that pure part within ourselves.

Merlyn is the name of King Arthur’s magician, yet this unique being was around long before Arthur’s time, for MERLYN is the name that has been given to the spiritual guardian of the Blessed Isles of Ancient Britain. It is the task of Merlyn to awaken us from our spiritual slumber, to awaken the magician within and to rededicate ourselves to the task of imaginative living.

And all this is connected with the Arthurian tradition and the ancient Celtic legends of Britain.

Are you drawn to the mysteries of ancient Britain? Are you ready to take up your seat as one of the Knights/Ladies of the Round Table and join us for an unforgettable magical journey through southern England?

Our first 11-Day pilgrimage starting late April 2016 got fully booked within 1-week of publicity. This, our second Tour for 11-Days in June is now your opportunity.

Your Deposit is the guarantee of a seat at this Round Table.

IN THE FOOTSEPS OF MERLIN - OUR 11-DAY PROGRAM

DAY 1

Morning travel to London Heathrow Airport - UK is 1-hour behind Scandinavia, so approximately 12 noon we are picked up by our 15-seater mini.bus and te next stage of our journey begins with a visit to the famous Stone circles of Stonehenge and even bigger & older stones circles placed around the vilage of Avebury.

Without doubt Stonehenge is the most famous & popular of the ancient sites of Britain. "Stonhenge" is an Anglo-Saxon word meaning "the hanging stones", while the Gaels named the circle "the Great Choir" because of the sound of the inner music that floods the soul when meditating in the temple's sphere. Legend says that the circle was br

ought to the Isles from the west by Merlyn when he came to civilise the British tribes.

Hotel in Glastonbury. Possible evening walk up the famous and evocative Glastonbury Tor.

DAY 2

Today be prepared for an exceptional first full day in England! Glastonbury is a small town rich in Arthurian legend and a major focus poiint of today's New Age movement. we shall have time to explore the many interesting shops in the High Street; visit the beautiful & meditative Chalice Well Gardens, the great Glastonbury Abbey ruins - and a final trip up the magical Tor. Second evening at same hotel in Glastonbury.

DAY 3

Today we leave Glastonbury and make our way further south towards the Cornwall coast & King Arthur's legendary birthplace, the famous Tintagel Castle. Along the way we travel through the wild moorlands of Dartmoor, climb the Haytor rocks and visit Dozmary Pool, to attune with the Lady of the Lake, where Arthur's magical sword is believed to have been returned. If time permits we include a visit to the smallest and highest and most isolated church in Britain, Brentor Church. Hotel in Tintagel for 2 nights.

DAY 4

Morning visit to Saint Nector's Glen, with it's beautiful waterfall and inspiring meditative environment. Lunchtime visit to a typical Cornwall pub.

There are many wonderful walks alomg the coastline where we are living, or a visit to the Land's End playground, and there are local bus trips available to nearby St. Ives, to visit the modern Art gallery, or the seaside holiday town of Penzance. DAY 9

The magnificent open-air Minack Theatre, internationally famous with its fully booked season of plays, musicals & performances, is a 700-seat amphitheatre carved into the rock face of the cliffs, decorated with exotic plants, and the scenography is provided by the ocean itself. And seeing this with the sun setting is an amazing experience - so we shall visit it during the daytime - and then enjoy an evening performance 8pm. This will also be our final evening at Boswedden House hotel.
